Employee recognition and engagement programs are one of the main pillars of DirectShifts employee culture. Every year, days, weeks, and months are set aside to properly recognize the contribution of our employees to the organization. We follow the tradition of frequent gatherings in fun and family group chats. Celebrations include gifts, giveaways, or team trips/offsite; work or personal anniversaries; life milestones like weddings or adding a new member to the family; employee of the month to celebrate their achievements.
Not only is this a great way to recognize each other's accomplishments, but it's a great way to increase participation and get to know each other outside of the office because we're a 100% remote organization. Our marketing and engagement team works hard to plan inclusive corporate events that bring people together.
Plus, there's also a popular peer-to-peer digital recognition platform! Every day, employees show appreciation to their co-workers by handing out praise points on a digital platform that is used to measure success and scorecard goals and achievements throughout the year. When employees need to get away from their desks, our breakout room is a hot spot for socializing, playing games, and enjoying a favorite snack. The HR team organizes a team networking event called "Happy Hours" for the whole company, where fun games, activities, and various celebrations and special occasions are celebrated.
To maintain a positive culture and stay lighthearted, we praise and recognize our employees for their achievements. By this we mean the ability to walk into each other's offices (open door policy), ask for help, bounce ideas off our desks, and even schedule a time to meet with our leadership team. Fundamentally, we value the value and diversity that everyone contributes and foster an environment where people achieve their goals.
