Do your own self-care by utilizing vacation time, taking off when sick, etc. Going to bed at a decent time also helps! I arrange my schedule so I don’t work Fridays and I keep the boundary that I will only work 9am-6pm, nothing earlier or later. Discipline yourself to catch up on notes when you have cancellations! Go to trainings as well if your agency allows you to. You can get a break from seeing clients while still getting paid.

This is still a struggle for me.

So far, unplugging helps and usually it’s in a different environment. To actually do this, I have to intentionally put it on my calendar and hold my ground. I let all necessary stakeholders know and I’m not moved by the pushback because I know what I need. I often have to remind myself to listen to my own body and not expect others to know what my limits are. They don't have to choose for me.
