There is a built-in problem within this question. They should co-exist, not be a choice.

The problem is why do we have to pick one over the other, we should be able to have both.
You have to have both, but tombstones say “beloved mother, brother, father, daughter, etc..” they don’t say “dedicated employee who made lots of money.”
Family life is far more important than money.
I would insist on both, why lower your standards?
